September 21, 2012: Lauderhill, Fla. – LifeNet4Families is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $70,000 grant in addition to a $50,000 fundraising challenge for its Emergency Food Services Program from The Jim Moran Foundation.
The challenge grant will match contributions made to LifeNet4Families – up to $25,000 for new donors and $25,000 for all other contributions made before May 31, 2013. Every donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact of support to help those in need.
LifeNet4Families has spent more than two decades providing services to the hungry and homeless of Broward County.
“We are grateful to The Jim Moran Foundation for its generous commitment that will help us further our mission to serve Broward County’s less fortunate,” LifeNet4Families’ President and CEO Russell T. Martin “In this economy, the need for services to at-risk families remains a top priority for our organization.”
In July, LifeNet4Families was awarded four stars – the highest ranking – by Charity Navigator, which provides relevant information about an organization to help donors make smart choices. This is the third consecutive 4-star rating for the organization, indicating that LifeNet4Families adheres to good governance and other best practices.
“Only 9% of the charities we rate have received at least three consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that LifeNet4Families | Cooperative Feeding Program outperforms most other charities in America,” said Charity Navigator President and CEO Ken Berger
