LifeNet4Families is located in the heart of Broward County, and is designed to address the true needs of the community and serve individuals and families in crisis.
LifeNet4Families serves approximately 6,000 individuals and families annually. There is a dire need for food services with the target population plagued with issues of food insecurity, homelessness, and poverty. LifeNet4Families works to ensure that individuals and families residing in Broward County and facing hardships are able to obtain food and other basic necessities. While reducing hunger is the primary goal of the organization, LifeNet4Families works to help clients regain or maintain stability by providing clients with access to on-site shower facilities, haircuts, clothing, counseling, referrals, job readiness preparation, emergency financial assistance, mailing address usage, and mail retrieval services.
We have strong partnerships with local organizations that are working to eradicate hunger, these partners include Feeding South Florida, The United Way of Broward County, Calvary Chapel, The Faith Center, First United Apostolic Church, Broward County Housing Authority, Broward School Homeless Education Assistance Resource Team, Broward Schools Employee Assistance Program and The South Florida Hunger Coalition. Through these partnerships we are able to ensure that people in need of food and other services can receive the help they need—regardless of their point of entry. In addition, we collaborate with local restaurants and supermarkets (including Walmart, Fresh Market, Tunie's, Winn-Dixie and Target) and are often able to "recover" food, hygiene products, toiletries, etc., that can be distributed, but no longer sold.
